Roark Coffee Table
Each unique table is a handmade, one-of-a-kind Texas artifact incorporating authentic historical pottery shards from kilns that produced from 1868 to 1904 in North Texas.

The pottery shards used to create these works of art come from the Roark-Griffith kiln in Denton County. This site is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The method of glazing is called salt glaze. Rock salt was thrown into the fire at the maturing temperature of the clay creating wonderful, subtle, glassy tones of gray, green and blue.

Along with the shards, we have also uncovered the small hand-shaped ‘pottery furniture’ used in the kiln to support several layers of pots to be fired. Occasionally, we come across remnants of iron tools and equipment that lend even more character and beauty to these historical treasures.

Texas Artifact Tables are truly works of art, one-of-a-kind and in limited quantities. Discriminating designers and clients are encouraged to consider these art pieces for your interior design projects.

Custom tables can be created to exact specifications. Please contact us for ordering information and pricing.
